Die Fragen sind durchnummeriert, seine Antwort ist direkt unter meiner Frage zu finden. Mein Englisch ist nicht wirklich gut, aber ich lass es einfach mal so stehen, wie ich es geschrieben habe. Hoffe ihr versteht meine Fragen und seine Antworten auch so.
1.) Why your storys plays in England?
My
mother's family moved to Canada from England when she was a little
girl, so I've always had an affectionate place in my heart for
an England of earlier days. My reading has always tended to centre on England, so it seemed natural to set my books there.
2.) How you have the idea that a 11-year-old girl ascertained in the books?
An
11-year old girl makes a perfect detective. No one sees her: she is
invisible. People say things in front of her that they would never dream
of
saying in front of an adult. She is curious, enthusiastic,
and has a single-track mind: all ideal characteristics for a detective.
Besides that, she has boundless energy and, above all, a
good sense of humour.
3.) How many books about Flavia are planned?
Ten,
presently. There is also a TV series in the works. The rights to the
Flavia books have been bought by Sam "Skyfall" Mendes's Neal Street
Productions.
4. ) I think it´s not a normal career from a electrical engineer to become a author. How do you make it and why? Was it easy or hard to make the decision?
You're
right, it's quite a jump! I took early retirement to be able to write
full time. Although the decision was difficult at the time, I later
wished I had done it a lot sooner!
5.) I like it that Flavia life in such a big house. When have you planned that she have to live in such a great house and not in a normal house?
English
families of a certain class often inherited huge houses that had been in
the family for centuries. By the 1950's, they were finding it
impossible to maintain
them. These old country houses all had
phenomenal atmosphere, and make for great settings. Remember, too, that
the Golden Age of the English mystery - Dorothy L. sayers, Agatha
Christie,
Ngaio Marsh, and so on, very often featured English country houses, so
that it's become more or less a tradition with some writers, including
this one, to follow in their footsteps.
6.) How long do you need to write a book?
Somewhere between nine and eighteen months. It depends upon how many people are ringing my doorbell.
7.) How have the ideas to a fall? And how a person get murdered?
of getting rid of an unpleasant character.
